New York Community Bank Foundation Supports Pace Students and the Community
The New York Community Bank Foundation has pledged a long-term grant of $122,000 to support students from Queens and Long Island pursuing their undergraduate education at Pace. This funding will enhance access to education, provide relief from the financial burden of student loans, and support experiential learning at unique and innovative nonprofits and social enterprises. Joseph R. Ficalora '79, is a board member of the foundation and the President, Chief Executive Officer, and a Director of New York Community Bancorp, Inc.
The 16th Annual Lubin School of Business Golf Classic will be held at Wheatley Hills Golf Club in East Williston, Long Island, on May 27. Co-chairs, Jim Anziano '77 and Mike Caramico '84, '93, along with the help of the Lubin golf committee, are working hard to ensure this opportunity for alumni and corporate partners to network, socialize, and raise support for the Lubin School of Business is a great success. In addition to a competitive round of golf, the outing includes brunch, a cocktail reception, dinner, a silent auction and raffles. Proceeds will benefit scholarships for Lubin students and special projects selected by the Dean to enhance Lubin's competitive standing.

Phil Wiser, chief technology officer of Hearst Corporation, will receive the Leadership and Service in Technology Award from Pace’s Seidenberg School of Computer Science and Information Services at a reception on May 29 at Hearst Tower in midtown Manhattan. Wiser is known as a key pioneer in the creation of the online digital music industry and the emerging over-the-top TV market.
David Yassky was appointed dean of Pace Law School effective April 1, 2014. A graduate of Yale Law School and Princeton University, Dean Yassky has had a distinguished legal career in government service, private practice and academia.

Lienhard School of Nursing has been selected for the third time as a grant recipient of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) New Careers in Nursing Scholarship Program (NCIN). Past awardees include Larry Rebich '10, John Ringhisen '10, and Ted Bailly '11. Lienhard School of Nursing and the RWJF NCIN program helped prepare them for their careers as nurse leaders.
