$1K in 3 Minutes (NYC)
$1,000 in three minutes. That’s almost double what Jay-Z and Beyonce make combined in an average three minutes and almost three times the Biebs. Registration is now open to compete in the 10th Annual Pace Pitch Contest.
This isn’t online spam. You don’t need to wire anything to anywhere to get started. This is what Pace calls “Opportunity through Entrepreneurship.”
On Thursday, April 17, the Entrepreneurship Lab at Pace will host the 10th Annual Pace Pitch Contest from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Aniello Bianco Room on the NYC Campus.
The Pace Pitch Contest is based on the Elevator Pitch concept, popular in the venture capital community. It is an extremely concise presentation of an entrepreneur’s idea, business model, marketing strategy, competitive analysis, and financial plan, which is delivered to potential investors. The premise is that it could be made in a few minutes, should the entrepreneur spot a potential investor on an elevator and have the opportunity to pitch their idea during the brief ride.
Each contestant will have exactly three minutes to pitch their new venture idea to a distinguished panel of judges and an enthusiastic audience. Cash prizes will be awarded. $1,000 for first place, $500 for second place, and $250 for third place.
And if you want to win it, you’ve got to be in it! To register as a contestant, fill out the online registration and submit a biography and an executive summary. The deadline for registration is 5:00 p.m. EST on Monday, March 31. If competing as a team, all members must complete the form individually. You should review How to Enter the Pace Pitch Contest for information on the criteria and important dates and Guidelines and Judging Criteria to help prepare for the contest.
To help prepare students for the Pace Pitch, the Entrepreneurship Lab will hold a series of mini-pitch contests called the Pitch Pace Contest Series. This is a fun and casual event with a small audience. Food and beverages will be served, plus a chance to win $100 in cash. The final in the Pitch Pace Contest Series will be held on April 2 from 12:10 p.m. to 1:10 p.m. at the eLab located at 163 William Street, Room 344, on the NYC Campus. The contest is open to all Pace University students. To compete, all you have to do is register, prepare a three-minute pitch, and show up 10 minutes early. Click here to register.
Note: The Pitch Pace Contest Series is not a part of the entry or selection process for the 10th Annual Pace Pitch Content.
