The ABT Studio Company comes to the Michael Schimmel Center at Pace in March.
The 2013-2014 season of Pace Presents continues at the Michael Schimmel Center for the Arts, 3 Spruce Street in Lower Manhattan. Current students and Pace alumni are eligible for discounted tickets. Here are some upcoming highlights:
February 9. Soprano Nadine Sierra, who is currently debuting at the Teatro di San Carlo in Naples as Gilda in Rigoletto and at the San Francisco Symphony in concerts with Michael Tilson Thomas, appears as part of the Voce at Pace: Rising Opera Stars in Recital series.
February 19. Author, Distinguished Pace Professor, and art historian Janetta Rebold Benton, PhD, continues her Great Masters illustrated lecture series, focusing on the Italian Renaissance painter Raphael (1483-1520). Other artists in Benton’s series will be Pierre-Auguste Renoir on February 26, Frank Lloyd Wright on March 5, and Frida Kahlo on March 12.
March 1. Fred Barton, his 12-piece orchestra, and a stellar cast of performers celebrate American composer and lyricist Jerry Herman, whose epic contributions to Broadway and Hollywood include Hello Dolly!, Mame, Dear World, La Cage Aux Folles, Mack & Mabel, and many more.
March 28. The ABT Studio Company, an ensemble of 12 outstanding young dancers, will perform works by the choreographers George Balanchine, August Bournonville, Sir Kenneth MacMillan, Marius Petipa, and Anthony Tudor.
