Junior, Accounting major pursuing a BBA/MBA
New York City campus
I am an Accounting major going into my senior year of college. I was originally at another university studying to become a Computer Engineer but transferred to Pace after I realized my passion for accounting and desire to change careers. The whole reason I came to Pace was because I knew about the prestigious business school and academic programs. After seeing all the flyers taped around campus advertising the Co-op and Career Services office, I decided to give it a try. I can honestly say that my Co-op advisor helped me to achieve the many opportunities/internships I have experienced at Pace. Co-op and Career Services will point you in the right direction and give you the advice and skills you need to survive in the business world. If you are looking for a career, Pace University is the place where you need to be.
Junior, Musical Theater major, Psychology minor
New York City campus
My name is Matthew Curiano and I am currently a junior majoring in Musical Theater with a psychology minor. I transferred here last fall from a school that felt more like a continuation of high school than an actual college. There was no real school community, and most of the students went home on the weekends, so the student life was lacking. On top of that, the administration seemed extremely disconnected from the wants of the students. So I transferred to Pace, and have never looked back.
Transferring colleges can seem like an extremely daunting task, but Pace made the process seem effortless. The college accepted almost all of my credits and on top of that they awarded me the Deans Scholarship, which is one of the largest scholarships the institution offers. That really helped make the transition from my previous school easy and stress-free. As opposed to my old college, I could already tell that Pace was a university designed to help their students succeed.
Here at Pace University, I have been exposed to a world of opportunity that is unlike any other college. What I love about Pace is that the school takes full advantage of its location. Majoring in musical theater, there is no place better to be on earth than in the heart of New York City. In coming here, I have been inspired every day of my life. Being a part of the performing arts program, I have been able to work with teachers who are at the top of their fields in casting, performing, and composing. I have had master classes with world renowned directors and writers such as Jerry Mitchell, Michael Greif, Stephen Flaherty, and Jack O'Brien, and learned from first-hand sources what is going on in the world of theater today. I have taken the opportunity to watch the filming of "Inside the Actors Studio" held here on campus, and was able to meet Bradley Cooper, and even got an autograph from James Franco! What's amazing about this program, and this university, is that you are given the opportunity to make valuable connections in your field, so that when you graduate from here and venture out into the real world you are confident and polished in your skills.
I have already learned so much from my short time here at Pace University. I have grown and discovered more in my one year at Pace, than I did during the two years I spent at my other college. I owe it all to the mission that this university so masterfully upholds— here, at Pace University, you truly will be working towards greatness. - 1/10/11
Senior, Finance major
New York City campus
My name is Claire Friedman. I am a senior at Pace University and a Finance major. I still can't believe I have come this far from my small town of Waldwick, New Jersey. I decided to try my luck as a bank teller when I was seventeen years old and that's where it all started. I really liked helping people and solving problems. I started college at another university and after two years I knew it was time to try my luck in New York City at Pace University.
The best thing about Pace University is the unlimited amount of resources available to its students. Whether it's on campus or off, I can get what I need to accomplish my goal. I would recommend Co-Op and Career Services to all Pace students; if I had not gone to Co-Op I might never have had this life-changing opportunity. —11/2009
Senior, Computer Science Major
I found the transfer process to be very easy and nearly all of my credits transferred. I was helped by my program adviser early on in my transition to Pace and I continue to receive support from my professors.
Senior, Criminal Justice major
I am now in my last semester at Pace’s Pleasantville Campus. Pace has given me an opportunity to learn both in and outside of the classroom. I spent last summer as an Investigative Intern at the Legal Aid Society in Manhattan, investigating cases for the less-fortunate population in New York City. Currently, I am an intern at Young & Bartlett, LLP. This position has provided me with a wealth of knowledge and has reinforced my ambition to pursue law school. I have recently completed the application process and have already been admitted to several law schools.
