Housing Assignment Process

Incoming freshman and transfer students who submit their housing deposit and assignment application by the May 1 will be guaranteed on-campus housing, and will receive confirmation of receipt via email by June 1.  Students that apply after the May 1 deadline are placed on a SPACE AVAILABLE basis. Those who submit applications and deposits after  May 1 will receive confirmation within two weeks from the date the application was received. If you apply after May 1 and do not receive email confirmation after three weeks, please call the Office of Housing and Residential Life on the campus to which you applied (New York City campus is (212) 346-1295 and Westchester campus is (914) 923-2791).

Room Placement

Room placement for the fall semester begins after the first week of August. Students should expect to hear about their room placement no earlier than the second week of August. Students may be housed in a double, triple, or quad-style rooms, depending on availability. During the summer orientation sessions, students can designate a roommate and campus preferences. Students that do not specify a roommate at this time, will be matched according to their responses to the questions on the Housing Assignment Application form.

Meal Plan Options

All full-time NYC and Westchester campus are required to have a meal plan. Learn more about the options that are available to you.

Safety & Security

All residents carry a swipe card that will allow them entrance to the residence hall where they reside. Along with the swipe card, they will receive a key to their living space. There are also video cameras located at all of the entrance/exit points to the halls that are connected to the Safety and Security Office
