Dear Colleagues,

The Spring semester is well underway as I write to you about the 2011 Commencement ceremonies. Planning for the Commencement ceremonies is progressing and this year promises to be as exciting as in past years. Please join me on the stage at the 2011 Commencement ceremonies in Westchester and New York City.

Commencement is a very special day for Pace students and their families. The ceremony highlights the intellectual and personal mentoring so many of you have provided over the years and marks the point where our graduates start the next phase of their lives. Repeated studies have shown how valuable faculty/student relationships are at Pace. Your support of Commencement extends that relationship. I am proud to be a part of this community celebration and hope that you will be with me in May to show your pride in all that our students have accomplished.

Commencement Ceremonies:

Friday, May 20, 2011, 11:00 a.m. Westchester Undergraduate Ceremony.  The Ann and Alfred Goldstein Health, Fitness, and Recreation Center on the Pleasantville campus.

NOTE: Because stage seating is limited for the Westchester ceremony, seating will be on a first-come, first-served basis. So please sign up early.

Sunday, May 22, 2011, 10:30 a.m. New York Undergraduate Ceremony; 4:00 p.m., Westchester and New York Graduate – Level Ceremony, both at Avery Fisher Hall, Lincoln Center.

Please note that the New York City ceremonies will be held this year at Avery Fisher Hall, Lincoln Center. Radio City Music Hall was unavailable because Cirque du Soleil booked a full year of performances there. Avery Fisher Hall, home of the New York Philharmonic, opened in 1962 with a concert featuring Leonard Bernstein and the New York Philharmonic. Avery Fisher Hall is an intimate performance space-- smaller than Radio City Hall--and the energy and spirit of commencement promises to be palpable.

Please click here to indicate your participation in one or more of the ceremonies. When completing the form, if you elect to order academic attire, follow the link to the Herff Jones website to place your order.

The form as well as your cap and gown order must be placed by Tuesday, March 29, 2011. Please note that if you have your own cap and gown, you stillmust respond regarding your attendance by March 29.

Ifyou miss the March 29 deadline date, you will incur the full cost of the cap and gown rental fees because of the extra cost to the University for late orders ($60). Please take the time to place your order now.

Thank you in advance for your response before March 29.

I look forward to seeing you at commencement 2011! Your presence will have significant meaning for our students, their families, and the entire Pace community.
