Hosting an Activity
The Human Resources’ Employee Relations Department is preparing for the annual Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work®Day. This year’s event is scheduled for Thursday, April 30, 2015 on both the New York City and Westchester campuses.
Designed to be more than a career day, the Take our Daughters and Sons to Work® program goes beyond the average practice of shadowing an adult. Exposing girls and boys to what a parent or mentor in their lives does at work is important, but showing them the value of their education, helping them discover the power and possibilities associated with a balanced work and family life, and allowing them to begin steps toward their end goals in a hands-on and interactive environment is key to their achieving success.
In an effort to plan the day’s activities, we are reaching out to departments within the Pace community to inquire if there is anyone who would like to organize a 30-45 minute activity for the children that echoes these themes.
Last year, activities included a kick-off breakfast with the HR team, visit with Environmental Center wildlife, tour of Schimmel Center, engaging activities with Career Services, ELI and Seidenberg School of CSIS, an informative visit to the College of Health Professions, and a fun-filled visit to the Visual Arts Center and Goldstein Athletic Center to name a few! The children had a great time!
