Help is only a call or a click away. Call whenever you like, as often as needed. Consultants can help you work through your concerns and develop a plan to address your problems. Calls are confidential; no one will know you use this service unless you tell them. You can also use the website at www.cignabehavioral.com/cgi  to e-mail a consultant, locate area resources or download information.  Our Work-life balance EAP is the comprehensive resource available to help you face life’s everyday challenges.

Any member of your household may access these services, including dependents living away from home.

Manager’s Responsibilities:

Managers should be familiar with the web site to obtain various articles, assess current management skills, or participate in on-line discussions concerning workplace challenges.

  • As a manager, it is important to encourage employees to utilize the EAP on their own, self-referral, to address personal or workplace concerns. Utilization, in this case, is voluntary. Do not ask the employee if he/she has contacted the EAP.
  • Managers should remind employees that the EAP provides free, professional, supportive and confidential assistance.
  • Managers are required to document ongoing concerns about an employee’s job performance and then communicate with University Employee Relations.
