Education: Joanne Knoesel holds the following degrees: Masters of Science in Nursing Education from NYU, Bachelor of Science Degree in Community Health Education from Hunter College, and Associate Degree in Applied Science, Nursing, from Niagara County Community College; ANCC Board Certified Medical-Surgical Nursing.  She is currently enrolled in a Nursing PhD program at City University of New York Graduate Center.

Areas of Expertise:  Critical care, Medical-Surgical Nursing, Simulation in nursing education, Evidence Based Practice and research.  Professor Knoesel is currently teaching Med-Surg and Critical Care courses in the Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN) program and provides clinical instruction to ABSN nursing students at the Manhattan VA Hospital.  Professor Knoesel is also the Co-Director of Simulation.

Professional Experience:  Joanne Knoesel has more than 30 years of clinical and educational experience.   Before coming to Pace University, she worked at the New York University Student Health Center, in the Urgent Care Unit, providing direct patient care and education to the university community.  Prior to that, Professor Knoesel worked in critical care at Lenox Hill Hospital for 22 years in several units including cardiac care, telemetry, interventional cardiology and the emergency department.
