Macy’s Lunch and Learn

Macy*s came to Pace University looking to hire and educate students on Retail Merchandising and Interactive Marketing. Direct Marketing Managers, Sahar Sadeghian and Anne Fitton spoke on behalf of Macy*s along with Vice President of Direct Marketing, Ceil McLaughlin, and Direct Marketing Analyst, Stephanie Baldelli, about the careers opportunities and benefits available at Macy*s for young aspiring marketers in today’s world.

Charity:Water Lunch and Learn

Kaitlyn Jankowski, Supporter Experience Manager, talked about Charity: Water, a non-profit organization that provides safe drinking water to people in developing countries.

Patrick Fultz, President & CCO of DMCreativeGroup gave a presentation about the importance of creativity in a direct marketing campaign and how to execute a marketing plan with a creative brief. Patrick Fultz has over thirty years of creative and direct marketing experience along with over fifty industry creative awards.

Lunch and Learn with Lawrence Kimmel, CEO of the Direct Marketing Association

Lawrence M. Kimmel, former CEO of the Direct Marketing Association came and spoke about how to succeed in the real world and how he founded Unimark, a direct marketing, promotion and advertising agency.


NYC Lab Co-Managers Julie Ching, Kaitlin Gallucci, and Maddy Lau were panel speakers at the Internet Retailer Conference & Exhibition (June 2009, Boston) and the Direct Marketing Association (DMA) Conference & Exhibition (October 2009, San Diego). They were discussing the research the IDM Lab has done for the Participatory Marketing Network (PMN) on Gen-Y consumers and leveraging social media.


The IDM Lab successfully trained approximately 20 entrepreneurs on Saturday, October 18th, 2008, in New York City's Chinatown. The Lab Managers, Maddy Lau and Julie Ching, assisted by the IDM Business Analyst Clark Wu, delivered a three-hour seminar on the principles of marketing and interactive communication to a lively group of Chinatown business people. The seminar was given in both English and Chinese. This was the IDM Lab's first venture into assisting local business people prepare for the 21st century's marketing challenges. The IDM Lab is planning more seminars with the NYC Department of Small Business Services.
