The Proofing Process
The proofing process should not be used as an opportunity to rewrite copy or make extensive revisions in copy. As a point of reference, a normal print job should go through only TWO rounds of proofs before being released to the printer. Any more than two proofs is a waste of everyone's time and money. External creative services charge for each revision.
Please be sure to review everything carefully the first time you receive a proof (see "Proofreaders' Marks"). The second proof should be used to make sure your original changes were made-not to make additional changes. Projects that require more than two rounds of proofing due to extensive copy changes will require the production schedule to be extended.
