50 Days Throws it Back to the ‘90s (PLV)

News Story

Roll into mid-April with a StrengthsQuest egg hunt, a play from Pace Drama Alliance, a throwback to childhood recess in the '90s, and much more this week as part of SDCA’s 50 Days and 50 Nights on the PLV Campus.

Do you miss belting the Spice Girls and spending afternoons watching The Rugrats and Hey Arnold? Enjoy throwback games, music, and snacks with BSU during their '90s Recess Night during 50 Days and 50 Nights this week on the PLV Campus. After reliving your youth, don’t forget to catch the Relay for Life auction, spring sports, field day, and more!

Monday, April 10

Easter Egg Hunt: StrengthsQuest Style
12:00 p.m.–1:15 p.m. | Kessel Well
You’re never too old for a good egg hunt! StrengthsQuest interns will challenge students to a hunt for their strengths. Giveaways will be included.

PDA Spring Play
Monday, April 10 and Tuesday, April 11 | 9:00 p.m.–11:00 p.m. | Gottesman Room
Pace Drama Alliance is gearing up to showcase Club Conspiracy, the play they’ve been working on over the past few months! Join Club Conspiracy. But don't worry, it's not actually an alien conspiracy club. It's a book club in disguise...that is, until its members realize that the debate team may just be aliens trying to take over the world. Watch as college students attempt to expose an extraterrestrial evil in a comedy mystery. Buy your tickets now.


Tuesday, April 11

Baseball vs. Dominican College
3:30 p.m. | Baseball Field
The Dominican College Chargers are hoping to take charge of our home field. Watch as the Setters strive to take home the win.

Interview Workshop

Softball vs. University of New Haven

In this match up, our strong Setters will attempt to send Charlie the Charger of the University of New Haven running out of town.

Paint and Sip
9:00 p.m.–11:00 p.m. | Kessel Multipurpose Room
Unleash your inner Picasso! Bring your artsy talents to a fun night of painting on canvases while sipping from glasses to make it feel like a paint and sip party.


Wednesday, April 12

Blood Drive
11:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m. | Gottesman Room
Every two seconds in the US, someone needs blood. Don’t let one drop go to waste! Roll up your sleeves and donate blood to help do your part and save lives.

Baseball vs. University of New Haven
3:30 p.m. | Baseball Field
The Chargers are charging into softball and baseball games in Pleasantville, but our Setters will put in the work to hopefully charge them out of town.

Meet and Greet with Health Care Professionals
8:00 p.m.–10:00 p.m. | Kessel Multipurpose Room
Curious about health care? Future Leaders in Health Care will be hosting this event for students to hear from and interact with speech pathologists, surgeons, physical therapists, physician assistants, medical doctors, registered nurses, and occupational therapists. They will discuss what it is like to get a degree, work in their environments, and share advice for how to get through school. Pizza will be served for those in attendance.

Sabor Latino
8:00 p.m.–12:00 a.m. | Willcox Multi-purpose Room
With food, music, performances, and more, NALFO will share why being part of a Latino council means so much to them. This exciting event will educate the Pace Community about NALFO and its cultures and traditions to help everyone understand its bigger picture of purpose.

RHA Month Manhunt
9:00 p.m.–11:00 p.m. | Butcher Suite
Relive your middle school manhunt days for a chance at a pizza party from Sal’s! Join RHA for this campus-wide manhunt event where teams of 25 students will compete to win the grand prize of a scrumptious pizza party from Sal's.


Thursday, April 13

Tree Planting Ceremony
3:30 p.m. | Environmental Pavilion
Give back to our great earth! NATURE will be hosting a tree planting ceremony to remind the Pace Community to respect nature and give back to the environment.

'90s Recess Night
8:00 p.m.–11:00 p.m. | Gottesman Room
BSU knows the '90s are All That! Join them for a throwback to your childhood with games, snacks, and music straight outta the decade that brought us unforgettable favorites from flannels to Chuckie Finster.

Pace Unites
9:00 p.m.–12:00 a.m. | Alumni Lawn
Based on the popular YouTube series “People Are Awesome,” the brothers of Pi Lambda Phi will take photos and film Pace students, bringing the community together and then turning the material into a compilation of videos highlighting the amazing and unique experiences of students.


Friday, April 14

Baseball vs. American International College

The Yellow Jackets are ready to sting on the field, but just wait 'til the Setters attempt to send them buzzing out of town.


Saturday, April 15

Men’s Lacrosse vs. College of Saint Rose
12:00 p.m. | Pace Stadium
Every rose has its thorn, but the Setters won’t let the College of Saint Rose put a thorn in its side during this game.

Field Day
12:00 p.m.–3:00 p.m. | Alumni Lawn
Get out and enjoy your beautiful campus while learning about an important cause. Field good vibes, raise awareness and funds for breast cancer research, and enjoy outdoor games and activities as part of field day.


Monday, April 17

Relay for Life Auction
9:00 a.m.–10:00 p.m. | Gottesman Room
A real-lay great fundraiser leading up to the big day, the Relay for Life Auction is an opportunity for students, staff, and faculty to come and bid on auction items donated to and/or purchased by Colleges Against Cancer. All proceeds go to Relay for Life. Some of the biggest items auctioned off last year included a Fit Bit Bracelet, an Xbox One, a JBL speaker, and more!


Tuesday, April 18

Women’s Lacrosse vs. New Haven
7:00 p.m. | Pace Stadium
In this match up, our strong Setters will attempt to send Charlie the Charger of the University of New Haven running out of town.


Wednesday, April 19

IRS Presentation
12:10 p.m.–1:10 p.m. | Lienhard LH
Interested in learning more about how the IRS operates IRL? The Accounting Society is hosting this event to help students network with recruiters, learn more about the agency, and enhance their knowledge of future employment opportunities.

Softball vs. Adelphi
3:00 p.m. | Softball Field
At this Pace Goes Pink game, watch as the Setters attempt to send the Adelphi Panthers running all the way home.

Men’s Lacrosse vs. Bentley College
7:00 p.m. | Pace Stadium
In this headstrong game, Flex the Falcon is shipping down from Boston, and the Pace Setters will attempt to soar to victory. Don't miss it!
