America in a World at War (PLV)

News Story

How much has really changed in the last hundred years? On April 6, learn about America’s foreign policy dating back to the turn of the century and how it mirrors what we’re seeing from our current administration.

Those who don’t learn from history are doomed to repeat it. Past administrations have championed national security, but sometimes at the cost of targeting ethnic groups and labeling them as threats. Learn how to shape the future by studying the mistakes of the past at the faculty talk, “America in a World at War: 1917 and 2017” on Thursday, April 6, from 3:25 p.m. to 4:25 p.m. in the Mortola Library.

At this special talk, Durahn Taylor, PhD, will lead a very informative lecture exploring the parallels between the current presidential administration’s tense border relations and the foreign policy of past presidents.

For more events coming up at Mortola, visit the calendar on its website.
