Courageous Conversations (PLV)

News Story

On Saturday, November 12, spend a day developing your leadership skills and sharing stories at the 2016 Fall Leadership Conference. This year’s theme: courageous conversations.

Lead yourself toward success at the second annual Fall Leadership Conference on Saturday, November 12, on the PLV Campus. With a central theme of “Courageous Conversations,” this conference aims to spark conversations you may not normally have with your peers and foster leadership development in multidisciplinary aspects of campus life and the surrounding community. This is going to be an exciting day of sharing stories, knowledge, and laughter, and participating in interactive workshops and discussions focusing on this year’s theme.

Check-in for the event begins at 9:00 a.m. in Willcox Multipurpose Room. The conference features keynote speaker Kat Lazo—a feminist video blogger, YouTube star, public speaker, and video producer—and closing speaker Olivia Worden—a Dyson adjunct professor and a faculty member for the Writing Institute at Sarah Lawrence College. Participants will also experience two different workshop sessions and a taboo topics discussion.

All students, faculty, and staff members are invited to attend, and other colleges and universities are welcome to attend and submit program proposals. Register by Friday, November 4 at 5:00 p.m. by filling out the OrgSync form and pay $5 through Eventbrite.

If you would like to volunteer during the conference while you attend, click here. (Note: all volunteers will attend the conference as attendees and will be given a small volunteering role during the conference). For more information, visit www.pace.edu/leadership-conference.
