Coders, small business owners, and budding entrepreneurs rejoice! We know the competition is fierce out there when it comes to getting your ideas and business ventures off the ground. But Pace is here to help with some contests, start up funds, and workshops to give your business and extra boost.
SBA 8(a)—Selling to the Government

Get your small business off the ground by selling to Uncle Sam. Pace, the Small Business Development Center, and the Small Business Administration are here to help you learn the ins and outs of procuring contracts with the government as a small business. Join them to understand the systems involved in government contracting, learn about the contracting support for small businesses provided by the Small Business Administration, and learn more about how to increase your likelihood of obtaining contracts from the federal government and prime contractors. 12th Annual Pace Pitch Contest

Lubin’s Entrepreneurship Lab is back at it again with the Pace Pitch Contest, where three minutes is all it takes to walk away with $1,000. Based on the classic elevator pitch, students will be given just three minutes to present an entrepreneurial idea, business model, marketing strategy, competitive analysis, and financial plan to a distinguished panel of judges and an enthusiastic audience.
Past winners have included EaTcard, an app that tracks and consolidates on-campus meal plans and reward systems; SheerStock, a monthly hosiery subscription service; Nuque Tie New York, a reversible neck tie for men to seamlessly transition from workplace boardroom to night life; and more.
Got an idea for a product to keep your white sneakers extra white or a new social media invention that will discover the next Internet sensation? Submit it to the 12th Annual Pace Pitch Contest by 5:00 p.m. on Monday, March 21. Finalists will be announced on April 4, and the contest will start at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, April 14 in the Bianco Room.

Calling all student coders: now’s your chance to win start up funds to make your dream app, product, or project a reality. MIT Enterprise Forum’s third annual Dream it. Code it. Win it. competition is accepting submissions through April 3 for technology solutions to real world problems. Last year, Pace’s Julie Gauthier ’15 and Olga Bogomolova ’13, ’16 took home second place and $10,000 for Codapillar, an app that teaches web programming in a creative, social, and intuitive way.
