Happy Lunar New Year (NYC)

News Story

It’s the year of the monkey and the Confucius Institute at Pace wants you to ring in the Chinese New Year with them at their annual celebration in the Schimmel on February 20.

The Confucius Institute’s 6th Annual Lunar New Year Gala, in partnership with the Pace Chinese Students and Scholars Association, is going to be bananas, B-A-N-A-N-A-S, because this year is the year of the monkey. On Saturday, February 20, from 2:00 p.m.–4:00 p.m. in the Schimmel, this year’s celebrations will feature UN singers, tai chi, acrobatics, dancing performances, a fashion show, a raffle, and refreshments. Pace University leaders and representatives from local and international communities will also be present.

Prior to the Lunar New Year Gala, from 1:15 p.m.–2:00 p.m., the Global Language Project will host cultural crafts for children, such as construction paper lanterns, Chinese knot bracelets, Chinese yo-yo, and paper cutting.
