As you gear up for gobbling turkey dinner, SDCA has great events planned to get you in the spirit during 50 Days and 50 Nights.
50 Days and 50 Nights gets ready for holiday delight! Before you enjoy a few days off, wind down with these events from talent shows to cook-offs and more.
Here’s what’s on the menu through Thanksgiving:
Tuesday, November 15
3:20 p.m.–4:20 p.m. | Kessel Well
First-year students, you've all had an intro to StrengthsQuest. Get ready to leverage your talents and learn more about your path to success at this session.
Phi Sigma Sigma Annual Talent Show
8:00 p.m.–11:55 p.m. | Kessel, Gottesman Room
Got talent? Phi Sigma Sigma will be hosting its annual talent show where individuals and multiple organizations will compete for a special prize.
Wednesday, November 16
11:30 a.m.–1:15 p.m. | Kessel Well Tabling
Tell your friends thank you with a pretty flower! Alpha Phi Delta will be selling white garofanos, which is the official flower of the fraternity. The Pace Community can purchase one flower for $2 and three flowers for $5 to send to individuals on campus to thank them before Thanksgiving.

12:00 p.m.–1:00 p.m. | Kessel Tabling
Stop by Kessel to get your vitals checked and help make better health choices. Student Nurse Coalition for Diversity and Development (SNCDD) will take your vitals—temperature, pulse rate, respiration rate, and blood pressure.
Commuter Life Programming: How Do You Give Back?

In the season of giving it’s time to examine, how do you give back? Commuters, come out and get in touch with giving back just in time for Thanksgiving.
Thursday, November 17
The Great American Smokeout
10:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. | Kessel Well Tabling
The Great American Smokeout (GASO) is a nationwide event to help people plan for themselves or others how to quit smoking, or plan in advance and then quit smoking that day. During this event, Colleges Against Cancer will teach participants about the effects that smoking has on the body and how it can lead to cancer. They will also provide tools and outlets needed to reach out for medicine, patches, and additional support.
Thanksgiving Clothing Drive
6:00 p.m.–9:00 p.m. | Kessel Tabling and Butcher Suite
Give thanks and give back at the annual Thanksgiving Food and Clothing Drive hosted by Black Student Union. The Pace Community is asked to donate unused clothing or non-perishable food items in exchange for a free plate of soul food from Sweet Potatoes. Items will be donated to the Bowery Mission in New York City.
Real Men Can Cook
9:00 p.m.–11:00 p.m. | Kessel, Gottesman Room
Men are getting into the kitchen and standing up for body positivity. During the event Real Men Can Cook, Delta Phi Epsilon will raise awareness for their philanthropy, National Association of Anorexia Nervosa and Associated Disorders (ANAD), which promotes positive body health and body image. Contestants will cook food for the guests and then be judged by a panel and the audience, and there will be a show and a brief informational.
Happy Hour: Musician Rachel Brown
8:00 p.m.–10:00 p.m. | Kessel, Boudreau Lounge
From Leonardo DiCaprio’s birthday party to opening a stadium performance for Mary J. Blige and Robin Thicke, singer Rachel Brown is making her mark on the music industry and befriending some prominent artists along the way such as Wyclef Jean. Check out her special performance here at Pace!
Friday, November 18
Second Annual Nuestra Belleza de Oro
8:00 p.m.–11:00 p.m. | Willcox Multipurpose Room
Watch women of Pace PLV showcase their talent and take the stage at Lambda Upsilon Lambda’s second annual Nuestra Belleza de Oro—a fabulous beauty pageant and fashion show.
Monday, November 21
9:00 p.m.–11:00 p.m. | Kessel Café, Willcox Multipurpose Room
'Tis the season for giving and getting in the holiday spirit! Alpha Lambda Sigma (ALS) will host a night of holiday fun in which attendees can take part in the ongoing toy drive that ALS is facilitating from November 21 through December 14. Take a picture with Santa, enter a raffle to win a Christmas survival basket, participate in an ugly sweater contest, eat cookies and drink apple cider, and use photo props for pictures. For entrance, you must bring a toy.
Sig I Santa
12:00 p.m.–2:00 p.m. | Kessel Tabling
Consider your holiday card photo done. Come out for Sig I Santa and take pictures with the sisters of Sigma Iota Chi who will be decked out in Santa and elf costumes.
7:00 p.m.–11:55 p.m. | Gottesman Room
Start turkey day early! Join the Students of Caribbean Awareness (SOCA), who will host a Thanksgiving dinner featuring traditional Caribbean and American dishes and hold a raffle to give away three special Thanksgiving gifts.
