Hoops for a Cause

News Story

Come out and support the Setters on Senior Day 2017 as they help raise money for women’s cancer research.

The men’s and women’s basketball squads will play some hoops for hope on Saturday, February 18, as Pace Athletics hosts Play4Kay, the annual Kay Yow fundraiser for breast cancer research.

The Setters host a doubleheader against the University of New Haven at the Goldstein Fitness Center, with tipoff at 1:30 p.m. for the women’s team and 3:30 p.m. for the men’s team. The game will feature special edition t-shirts on sale, with all proceeds going to the Kay Yow Fund, named in honor of the legendary women’s basketball coach. Over the years, the organization has raised $5.28 million that has been allocated to women’s cancer research. In addition, one lucky fan will go home with a piece of jewelry from Twin Jewelers valued at $250.

The weekend will also mark Senior Day—and the four-year athletes that have given their all to Pace academics and ball—will be honored in between games. Cheerleading seniors will be recognized at half-time during the women's game.
