Human Library (PLV)

News Story

Mortola Library is giving new meaning to the term “shelf life” on March 2 as they host a Human Library event, where the Pace Community can check out a living book. Plus, the dedication of a new special collection on March 4.

Want to take out a veteran out for a chat? Or how about a programmer turned professor turned preacher? On Thursday, March 2, borrow people instead of books as Mortola Library hosts the Human Library from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the Library Lobby in PLV.

Explore the unique stories and experiences that define students, faculty, and staff at Pace, and challenge your perspectives by meeting the explorers, the pioneers, the courageous, and the resilient of the Pace Community. Borrow a human “book” from the Pace Community for 30 minutes of unscripted, meaningful, and challenging conversation.

Next, come out for a special event for the dedication of the Professor Nick Catalano Special Collection in the Mortola Library on Saturday, March, 4 from 1:00 p.m.–2:00 p.m. The collection celebrates over 50 years of diverse contributions made by Professor Catalano to Pace University as a scholar, author, musician, and producer.
