Proud for Pride (NYC)
From drag BINGO to an evening at the famed Nuyorican Poets Cafe, the LGBTQA and Social Justice Center has a sizzling series of September events.
Want to get more involved with the LGBTQA and Social Justice Center? The Center has been hard at work prepping a fantastic lineup of events and workshops for LGBTQA students. Here’s a look at everything going on the rest of the month:
Vogue with Cesar Valentino
Thursday, September 21 | 7:00 p.m.–9:00 p.m. | 41 Park Row, 8th Floor SDACA lounge
All shapes and sizes are welcome for what will prove to be a fabulous and empowering night of dance with the legendary Cesar Valentino of the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater. Let loose and come vogue!
Drag Bingo with Shangela
Monday, September 25 | 7:00 p.m.–10:00 p.m. | Bianco Room
Who doesn’t love a good game of Bingo, especially when it’s paired with a world-famous drag queen? Sashay your way over to the Bianco Room for Drag Queen Bingo with Shangela from RuPaul’s Drag Race. ‘Nuff said.
Connect Welcome Back Gay/Bi/Queer Men's Mixer
Tuesday, September 26 | 8:00 p.m.–9:30 p.m. | Maria's Tower, 11th floor lounge
Wednesday, September 27 | 8:00 p.m.–9:30 p.m. | 182 Broadway, 4th floor screening room
Connect is a new group for gay, bi, and queer-identified men at Pace. Learn more about the group and their plans for queer-oriented outings across the city and find out how to have safer queer sex at one of two mixers! The group is open to all queer-identified men at Pace and will be as inclusive and intersectional in its work and fun as possible.
Thursday, September 28 | 7:00 p.m.–9:00 p.m. | 41 Park Row, 8th Floor SDACA lounge
The Center will be hosting a Babeland workshop focused on sex positivity, consent, and other topics relevant to LGBTQA college students. The workshop will also allow time for students to (anonymously) ask questions about sex you always wanted to know from a Babeland expert.
