Season's Greetings at the Schimmel
It’s the most wonderful time of the year...to head on over to the Schimmel Center and see one of the great shows they have lined up for the holiday season!
We may be dipping below freezing pretty soon, but these shows won’t have anything to do with it. Come to the Schimmel for the hottest holiday season lineup around, featuring:
An Evening with Tom Rush and Matt Nakoa
Friday, December 9 at 7:30 p.m.
Tom Rush, one the major influences who helped shape the folk revival of the 1960s that helped spawn the forthcoming careers of James Taylor, Garth Brooks, and many more, will be bringing his expressive style of guitar-driven storytelling to the Schimmel. Rush will perform alongside internationally touring singer Matt Nakoa, who got his start at New York City’s own world-famous Brandy’s Piano Bar, and Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Seth Glier, who has shared the stage with notable musicians such as James Taylor, Ani DiFranco, Emmylou Harris, and Ryan Adams. Buy tickets here.
Friday, December 16 at 7:30 p.m.
One of the country’s most known, inventive comics, Paula Poundstone will be bringing her unique act to the Schimmel for one night only. In addition to touring across the country, Poundstone is currently a regular panelist on NPR’s number one show, the weekly news quiz show WAIT WAIT…DON’T TELL ME!, and holds the show’s record for (drumroll please) game losses. Often unscripted, always entertaining, Poundstone is sure to provide an evening to remember. Buy tickets here.
The Rob Mathes Holiday Concert
Sunday, December 18 at 3:00 p.m.
For the first time ever, what has become a holiday tradition spanning over 20 years is coming to the Schimmel! Rob Mathes and vocalists Vaneese Thomas and D-Train Williams will be belting out an R&B-laden twist on your favorite holiday classics and pop songs alongside musicians from Saturday Night Live, David Letterman’s Late Show, and Paul Simon’s band. Buy tickets here.
Pace students receive $10 tickets to all Schimmel Center shows. These must be purchased through the box office phone or in person with your Pace ID. A limit of two tickets per performance applies.
