Spotlight on Clubs: POSE (PLV)
Check out the club making a fashion statement on the PLV Campus, and providing an opportunity for students to prepare for the industry while expressing themselves.
The beauty of fashion is in the eye of the beholder, and Pace PLV’s POSE (Pace Original Style Etiquette) takes pride in their member’s individuality and unique senses of style. Though they were formed in December 2016, POSE is already making a statement on the PLV Campus, hosting fashion shows and a professional fashion panel for students to network and learn tips of the trade. Get to know more about the club setting trends on campus and how you can get involved in this Q&A.
Meeting times: Every other Tuesday at 9:00 p.m. in Miller 10

Q: What is something unique about POSE?
A: Something unique about POSE is that it is for anyone. You don't have to know everything about fashion or be a huge fashionista to join the club. Even if you don't care for fashion that much but you want to join a club and meet new people, POSE is the place for you. You could learn something new and maybe even realize that you do like fashion.
Q: What are some of POSE’s goals?
A: Our organization's goals are to allow students to share their love of fashion with others who have the same interest, get students on campus interested in fashion, and give members some experience and insight into the fashion industry.
Q: What is something you’d like students to know about POSE?
A: Something I would like students to know about our club is that you don't have to have vast knowledge in the field of fashion or be an amazingly well dressed person to join and benefit from the club. Everybody has their own unique style and idea of what fashion is. We will have some fun events that I think a lot of people will enjoy.
Q: What is the best part about being involved in POSE?
A: The best part about being involved in POSE is the opportunity to be introduced into fashion and to view fashion critically. We have the ability to expose people interested to professionals in the industry, as we have ample access to New York City. Also, we collaborate with Pace's NYC fashion club, Profashionals, which has been established for longer.
Q: Why should students join POSE?
A: People should join POSE because it's a great group of people sharing their love of fashion, and it could bring about great opportunities for people interested in the industry. To join, just come to the meetings every other week at 9:00 p.m. in Miller 10. Also follow us on Instagram and Snapchat @pose_pace to get updates.
Q: Do you have any events coming up?
A: We have a fashion panel coming up Friday, April 21, at 6:00 p.m. in Kessel Multipurpose Room. Professionals in the industry from Paper magazine, Pookie and Sebastian, fashion photographers, makeup artists, and more will be in attendance sharing their knowledge of the industry and networking with Pace students!
