Stress Free in the Library
Who would've thought your Library card could swipe you into puppy playtime, toast, game night, a history lesson, and more? Though finals are near, Mortola and Birnbaum Libraries are having an A+ end of the semester.
Mortola Library on the PLV Campus and Birnbaum Library on the NYC Campus are serving up events to help you destress and they involve two fan favorites: puppies AND carbs. Check out what’s coming up to help you unwind after a very long semester.
For Your Reference: Extended Library Hours (NYC and PLV)
Looking to get your study on in the Library? Both the Birnbaum and Mortola libraries will have extended hours for the final exam period. From Thursday, April 27 through Friday, May 12, the Birnbaum Library will be open weekdays from 8:00 a.m.–2:00 a.m., and weekends from 10:00 a.m.–2:00 a.m., while the Mortola Library will be open 24 hours from Monday, April 24 through Monday, May 15.
Toast the End of the Semester… with Toast!
Tuesday, May 2 | 10:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.
Stressed the most? Eat some toast! The end of the semester is near and the library is “toasting” to the end… literally! Join them for a variety of different breads and spreads at their very special toast bar. Grab a snack and take a #toastie (it’s like a selfie, but with toast) to mark the occasion.

Thursday, May 4 | 10:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m. | Kessel Multipurpose Room

The Good Dog Foundation, which provides animal-assisted therapy services to more than 350 partner facilities in four states, including at disaster sites around the country, as well as hospitals, schools, and nursing homes, is returning to PLV to help provide some stress relief during finals. To help make your ruff days more paw-some, the puppies will be making two days of stops in PLV.
Mortola Game Night
Friday, May 5 | 6:00 p.m.–9:00 p.m. | Lobby
Collect friends and relieve stress as you pass go! You’re about to encounter a fortune greater than any amount of Monopoly money by making friends and taking time to unwind over board games at Mortola Library Game Night, featuring a variety of gaming options.
The Great Dictator Film Screening
Wednesday, April 26 | 4:30 p.m.–6:00 p.m. | Collaborative Learning Room
Destress with snacks and a screening of the classic Charlie Chaplin 1940s film, The Great Dictator, which is an American political comedy-drama about a barber who spends years in an army hospital recovering from wounds unaware of the rise of a dictator who bears a similar resemblance to the barber.
Tuesday, May 2 | 1:00 p.m.–3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.–7:00 p.m. | First Floor of Library
To help make your ruff days more paw-some, enjoy playtime with a pile of puppies in the Birnbaum Library. Let the cuddles and tummy scratches melt away your stress.
