Tis the Season to Give Back
From an adopt a family holiday drive to helping families who suffer from domestic violence to toy drives for children in need to pictures with Santa to benefit children with autism, the Pace Community is bringing hope and heart to the holiday season.
Adopt a Family Holiday Drive: Hope's Door (PLV)
through December 4
Pace University is teaming up with Hope's Door for the Adopt a Family Holiday Drive. Hope's Door is an organization that seeks to end domestic violence and they are looking for people, like yourself, to adopt a family that has suffered or is suffering from domestic violence and get them gifts for the holidays. Participants will be matched with a family, depending on your family size preference, and will be asked to purchase gifts for each family member. Once matched, you must buy, wrap, properly label, and bring all the gifts to the PLV Holiday Party on December 4 at 3:00 p.m. in the Kessel Student Center. There is a minimum of $15 for each family member. Learn more or register now.
Toy Drive (PLV)
through December 10
Bring joy to someone’s holiday season. Career Services is sponsoring a toy drive to help Open Door Foundation, which collects and distributes toys for children from families of less fortunate means to ensure each child receives a brand new toy or gift. From Play-Doh to LEGO, Hot Wheels to whatever Frozen toy is left on the shelves, help meet this year’s goal of 2,500 brand new toys for children ages newborn to 14 years old. All toys are distributed to the young patients of Open Door Family Medical Centers. Bring donations to Gannet House or Kessel Suite 200. For toy suggestions, click here. Every toy counts! For more information, contact Bless Vaidian at (914) 773-3415.
