Traffic Stop Doc Screening (NYC)

Director Kate Davis will be visiting the NYC Campus on Thursday, April 12, for an exclusive Q&A about Traffic Stop, her documentary that shines a light on police brutality.

On June 15, 2015, a black schoolteacher named Breaion King was pulled over by a white police officer in Austin, Texas. A harrowing experienced followed, all captured on the officer’s dashboard camera. Traffic Stop explores King’s story—and the overarching issue of racial discrimination in the US—in this unflinching, 32-minute documentary.

Traffic Stop was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Documentary Short Subject and won the Grand Jury Prize in the Shorts Competition at DOC NYC 2017.
