Pioneer of Justice Awards

Join the Women’s Association of Law Students (WALS) for their annual Pioneer of Justice award ceremony honoring Professor Melissa Murray, the distinguished Frederick I. and Grace Stokes Professor of Law at New York University School of Law.

Professor Murray’s research focuses on the legal regulation of sex and sexuality, exploring topics such as marriage and its alternatives, reproductive rights, and caregiving. Her scholarship has been published in top law journals, including the Harvard, Yale, Columbia, and California Law Reviews. She is also a co-author of Cases on Reproductive Rights and Justice, the first casebook covering the field. Beyond academia, she has written for publications like The New York Times, Newsweek, and Vanity Fair and has been a legal commentator for MSNBC, NPR, and PBS.

WALS is delighted to honor Professor Murray for her outstanding contributions to gender and racial equality. Her work has played a pivotal role in shaping legal discourse and promoting justice for underrepresented communities. We welcome you to join us for this special evening as we celebrate her achievements.
