Returning Student Room Selection Processes

Upperclass Living Learning Communities

The Upperclass Living Learning Communities have a separate application process. To learn more, view our Upperclass Living Learning Communities page.

Roommate/Suitemate/Housemate Matching

All roommate/suitemate/housemate matching must be made mutually in MyHousing. After you have completed the Fall Returning Student Room Selection Application, you will be able to go the top navigation of MyHousing --> Room Selection --> Roommates/Suitemates and be able to search and request roommates.

To send a roommate request:

1) Highlight Room Selection and click on Roommate/Suitemate selection.
2) Fill in Last Name, First Name, or email address. This will allow you to search for that specific student.
3) Click on Request Student as Roommate.
4) Repeat this process until you have selected all of your roommates/suitemates or housemates.

If someone has sent you a roommate request, all you have to do is confirm it by clicking on the confirm button. You will be able to see on your Roommate/Suitemate Selection page to see if someone has requested you as a roommate.

For groups of three or more, each person has to request and approve each member of the group. If that is not done, you will not be able to assign all of the group members to a space or see all of the possible spaces your group will qualify for in the room selection process.

Looking for a Roommate?

If you do not have a specific student in mind, you can use the Advanced Search Feature in MyHousing to find potential roommates. You will be able to communicate with the potential roommate/suitemate and then if you decide you want to live with them, send a roommate request to be mutually paired.

The Office of Residential Life & Housing will be holding Roommate Socials to help students meet each other. Be on the lookout for information about these. They will take place in March.

Double Room as a Single Room Selection Process (Online Selection)

  • The Double Room as a Single Room Selection Application will open on March 1, 2019, and must be submitted at MyHousing by Friday, March 29, 2019, at 11:59 pm.
  • On Monday, April 1, 2019, in the evening, those students who have completed applications will be assigned a room selection time for the evening of Wednesday, April 3, 2019. This information will be sent to the applicants Pace University Email.
    • We have a limited number of Double Rooms as a Single Room available for the room selection process. Selection times will only be assigned to the top 30 people that have applied to the process. The rest of the students will be placed on a waitlist.
  • On the evening of Wednesday, April 3, 2019, during their assigned time, the applicant will be able to see what rooms are available and select a room.
  • Students who are assigned to an Upperclass Living Learning Community are not eligible for the double as a single room selection process.
  • The double rooms as a single that will be available are in Martin Hall and North Hall.

Townhouse Selection Process (Online Selection)

  • Students who would like to live in the Townhouses for Fall 2019, must form roommate groups of eight (8). The roommate groups must be formed in MyHousing under Room Selection  Roommates/Suitemates.
  • Roommate/Housemate groups must be formed by 11:59 pm on Thursday, April 4, 2019. There are no exceptions to this deadline.
  • On Friday, April 5, 2019, in the afternoon, the students who have groups of eight (8) formed will receive an email with a selection time. The selection times will be on Monday, April 8, 2019, to Tuesday, April 9, 2019, between 6:00 pm and 11:00 pm.
    • Selection times will be determined by Housing Points. The person with the highest number of housing points will be able to select first.
    • Only one member of the group has to go to MyHousing, select a house and assign all of the students in the group to a space within the house.
      • Please discuss this within your group and make sure that you have an agreement on who will do this.

Elm Hall, Martin Hall and North Hall Selection Process (Online Selection)

  • On April 12, 2019, all students who have not selected a space will be assigned a room selection time. They will be able to select a space in Elm Hall, Martin Hall or North Hall. The selection times will be during April 15 and 25, 2019 between 6:00 pm and 9:00 pm.
    • Selection times will be determined by Housing Points. The person with the highest number of housing points will be able to select first.
    • Only one member of the group has to go to MyHousing, select a semi-suite, suite or room and assign all of the students in the group to a space.
      • Please discuss this within your group and make sure that you have an agreement on who will do this.
  • Groups of 2, 3 or 5 can select a space in Elm Hall. Students will only be able to select a suite or semi-suite if the group can fully fill each space in the suite or semi-suite.
    • Most suites and semi-suites in Elm Hall are composed of a double room and a triple room.
    • There are very few suites or semi-suites for 2 or 3 people.
  • Groups of 2 or 3 can select a space in Martin Hall or North Hall. Students will only be able to select a space if they can fully fill the room with their roommate group.
  • On April 25, 2019, if spaces are still available, we will remove the requirement that the room, suite or semi-suite needs to be filled so that individual students without a group can select a space.
  • If a student was not able to select a space through the Returning Student Room Selection process, they will be added to a Guaranteed Housing Wait List for the Fall and will be emailed when a space is available for them. This can happen at any time during the summer, and building preference cannot be guaranteed.
