Business Economics, Advanced Graduate Certificate Program
Professionals with advanced degrees often need additional training in order to stay current with developments, to handle new responsibilities, or to qualify for licensing or certifications. Lubin's Advanced Graduate Certificate Program (AGC) is designed to meet the specialized knowledge needs of professionals who already have an MBA or an MS in a business discipline. The 12-14 credit program can be pursued part-time in New York City and may be completed within one to three years. Programs are tailored to individual needs. The Advanced Graduate Program in Business provides individualized format programs of study to meet the specialized needs of business professionals. Some managers find that their career has developed new areas of responsibilities. Others conclude that new developments in their fields of expertise require systematized knowledge of improved skills. Employers and managers increasingly recognize that completion of a certificate signifies a high level of achievement and competence by its recipient.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS: The program is open only to people who have already received their MBA or MS in Business from Pace or another university. Since most MBA curricula require students to take similar "foundation core" courses (accounting, management, marketing, etc.) before they take specialized advanced courses in their major, Pace's AGC program assumes that incoming students have knowledge of those courses and can "jump right in" taking the advanced specialized courses in the business major of your choice. The certificate typically requires completion of twelve (12) to fourteen (14) approved course credits (a few modules, in taxation and accounting, may require 14—most require 12). With advice and approval of Dr. Jack Yurkiewicz, the Program Director, each student articulates his or her career and program objectives and selects courses which contribute to their fulfillment. Individualized modules are approved for each student after admission but before registration. Pace awards the Certificate to students who complete their modules with a minimum of a "B" average.
