The Black Student Union (BSU) just dropped one heck of a Spring 2019 events lineup—from a black activist dinner to their annual art symposium to a weekend of plays, you won’t want to miss a thing.

All Black Affair: Sex-Ed and Black Liberation
Thursday, February 28 | 7:00 p.m.–10:00 p.m. | Bianco Room
A keynote dinner featuring black activists from a variety of industries—all coming to speak to you! You’ll be able to hear their stories and have the opportunity to engage with them to learn more about their achievements. This could be you in a few years!

Martin Luther King Jr. Lecture Series
Tuesday, March 5 | 6:00 p.m.–9:00 p.m. | Schimmel Center
Join celebrated author and professor Cornel West, PhD, and CEO of the Bail Project Robin Steinberg, Esq., for a very important evening of discussion around the theme of liberation. Learn more about the MLK lecture.

Volunteer Trip Kelly Street Gardens
Saturday, April 13 | 10:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m. | Kelly St. Gardens, Bronx (exact location to be announced!)
The Kelly Street Gardens have acted as a pioneer in urban agriculture and food justice in the South Bronx since 2014. Be part of this incredibly important movement and volunteer your time with BSU.

Art Symposium
Wednesday, April 17 | 7:30 p.m.–10:00 p.m. | Bianco Room
Featuring local NYC artists, open mic, poetry slam, special performances, and a panel discussion, this will certainly be a night to remember. Join the BSU for their annual evening of talent on display.

BSU Play Series
Saturday, April 20, and Sunday, April 21 | 3:00 p.m.–5:00 p.m. | Bianco Room
A theatrical production entirely organized and run by BSU members, their performances are sure to entertain and enlighten. Keep your eye on these events—more information will be revealed later in the semester. You won’t want to miss it!
