2019 Textbook Tips and Resources

News Story

Did you know that 80% of textbooks are available for rental? Or that the Pace Bookstore offers price matching for Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and more? Be sure to take note of these helpful tips when buying textbooks!

The Division for Student Success (DSS) wants to make sure you’re aware of all the resources available to you when buying books for classes. Before you start scrolling through Amazon or other stores online, check out these locations first:

  • >> Library: Some of the most expensive and commonly used textbooks are on reserve in both the Birnbaum and Mortola Library. Check to see if the one you’re looking for is already there!
  • >> Learning Center: Textbooks are available for tutoring purposes, but they can’t be taken out of the Center. If you need to review for a study session, this is the place for you.
  • >> Pace Bookstore: About 80% of textbooks on both campuses are available for rent from the Pace Bookstore. They will also price match from competitors like Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and more if you go to their site.
  • >> Scholarships: The Dean for Students Office provides scholarships every year to students who might need assistance purchasing books. Please check your Pace email for more information, as you should have received details in early August.

Always check with your professor to confirm required textbooks. Be on the lookout for fliers posted by students who are selling their used textbooks as well!
