Fundraising and Fighting Food Insecurity

Do Good with Burritos
Monday, September 16 | 4:00 p.m.–8:00 p.m. | The Chipotle at 111 Fulton Street
Pace’s Physician Assistant Class of 2021 is fundraising for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society—and they’re already over halfway to their goal of 35K! This initiative is near and dear to many of the PA students’ hearts. Blood cancers account for almost 10 percent of new cancer cases in the US each year, and more than 1.2 million people in the US are either living with or in remission today from a blood cancer.

Now you can help. Stop by the nearby Chipotle on Monday, September 16, where 33 percent of the proceeds made from sales will be donated directly to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society on behalf of Pace’s PA program. Plus, who doesn’t love burritos? Be sure to tell the cashier that you’re supporting the cause to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

Provisions Food Pantry
Mondays (October 28, November 11, December 9) at 12:00 p.m.–1:30 p.m.; Tuesdays (October 29, November 12, and December 10) at 3:30 p.m.–5:00 p.m.
Pace’s NYC Campus has partnered with the Food Bank for New York City to open Provisions, a food pantry that is available to all students, staff, and faculty. Guests can choose from a selection of grains, pasta, canned vegetables and fruits, as well as select dairy products. Fresh seasonal produce, harvested from the Provisions Garden, will also be available.

All guests are required to complete a one-time intake form and use Pace’s card swipe system per visit. For further information, please call Denise Belen Santiago, PhD, at (212) 346-1546 or send an email.

In 2017, an estimated 1 in 8 Americans were food insecure, equating to 40 million Americans including more than 12 million children. To help combat food insecurity, Pace’s Mobile Food Pantry program provides nourishing, stigma-free, and affordable food to the Pace and Westchester community through a partnership between Pace and Feeding Westchester. By providing education, affordable and free options, and accessibility, PLV is addressing hunger in a big way!

Come pick up your food (no questions asked) at the dates listed above, and be sure to lend a hand if you’re interested in volunteering. For further information about the Mobile Food Pantry, please email Erin Mysogland.
