Refreshments Roundup 2019
Smashing pumpkins (and stereotypes). Pepero Day. Pizza and trivia. “Wine” down with mocktails. We hope you’re hungry, because there are a ton of food-related events coming up at Pace. Dig in!
If you’re looking for Halloween-themed treats, head over to our roundup of holiday events happening on both campuses. Otherwise? Here’s a good eats roundup that will satisfy every hangry episode:
Korean Drama Day
Wednesday, October 30 | 12:10 p.m.–1:10 p.m. | One Pace Plaza, Room W504
Catch a Korean drama and enjoy plenty of snacks with Global Korea Through Entertainment (GKTE)! They’re a new club on the NYC Campus, and they welcome anyone who would like to hang out. Check out the GKTE OrgSync for more information.
Pizza Trivia Day
Wednesday, October 30 | 12:10 p.m.–1:10 p.m. | One Pace Plaza, Room E320
Get your crew together and flex your knowledge at UNICEF’s trivia day. The winning team will go home with a free, handmade fair trade prize. Also bragging rights, but that’s a given.
Pepero Day Celebration
Wednesday, November 13 | 12:10 p.m.–1:10 p.m. | One Pace Plaza, Room W504
Pepero is a sweet snack of cracker sticks covered in chocolate, which is similar to Pocky. Come make some with Global Korea Through Entertainment (GKTE) to celebrate a fun Korean holiday!
Monday, November 4 | 12:00 p.m.–2:00 p.m. | Miller Lawn
It’s the fourth annual Smashing Pumpkins event hosted by Multicultural Affairs. You know the drill—every year following Halloween, they’re rounding up pumpkins to write stereotypes you currently face so you can smash them. Literally.
ASL Bake Sake
Wednesday, November 6 | 11:30 a.m.–1:30 p.m. | Kessel Student Center and Miller Hall
Indulge your cravings on your way to class thanks to the American Sign Language club! They’ll be setting up shop at two locations on the PLV Campus, so you won’t miss out on some tasty treats.
“Wine” Down With Us
Wednesday, November 6 | 9:00 p.m.–11:00 p.m. | Kessel Multi-Purpose Room
Show off your creativity and join Sigma Iota Chi when they decorate wine glasses. Fruity juices and other mocktails will be served along with cheese, fruits, and bread. Yum!
What Goes in Your Body?
Wednesday, November 13 | 8:30 p.m.–10:00 p.m. | Kessel Multi-Purpose Room
Let’s debunk some food label misconceptions. Spoon University is serving up the differences between common food labels like grass-fed, organic, free-range and more.
Slice Slice Baby
Wednesday, November 13 | 9:00 p.m.–11:00 p.m. | Butcher Suite
It’s the ’90s pizza party of your dreams! Join Pace Cooks and Bakes when they cook up some serious good eats. You’ll even get to add your own toppings, so the question is: are you a pineapple on pizza purist, or a pepperoni fan?
