Dyson Assistant Professor Leora Trub, PhD, discusses social media’s effect on mood and emotional states and why the Kardashians get you down in an article for the San Jose Mercury News.

Pace Law School professors Jay Carlisle and Vanessa Merton were cited by the New York Law Journal as "Lawyers Who Lead by Example" in the area of public service.

Dyson Professor Maria Iacullo-Bird, PhD, has just been awarded a five year grant totaling $219,965 per year (~$1.1 million) from the U.S. Department of Education Student Support Services Program (SSS) to aid in the retention of at-risk students.

Alison McCarthy has joined Pace University Athletics as a new assistant athletic trainer, effective immediately.

Dyson Professor Michael Levine was recently featured in The Downtown Express, who wrote an article regarding his work with four of his classes to survey Community Board 1. Levine and his students worked with the city to uncover what visitors and residents found to be the top five problems in TriBeCa, Seaport/Civic Center, Financial District, and Battery Park City.

Information Technology Services’ Beth Gordon, PhD, gave a presentation at the Association for Authentic, Experiential, and Evidence-Based Learning (AAEEBL) on e-Portfolios, and gave another presentation at Teachers College.

Physics Professor Mohsen Shiri-Garakani, PhD, has been appointed director of the Pforzheimer Honors College in Pleasantville, and is set to serve a one-year term spanning from August 3, 2015July 31, 2016.

Erica Johnson, PhD, chairperson of the New York City English Department, has just released her fourth book—entitled Jean Rhys: Twenty-First Century Approaches.

Lubin’s Beta Gamma Sigma chapter has qualified for “Highest Honors” for the 2014-2015 academic year. Out of 500 BGS chapters only 20 have attained this distinction. Benefits include contention for Outstanding Chapter Award and covering the cost of a Lubin student to attend the Global Leadership Summit. Beta Gamma Sigma is the premier business honor society recognizing business excellence.

Lubin Professor Bruce Bachenheimer was quoted in an article called “What You Can Learn from Carly Fiorina’s Smackdown of Trump.”

Lubin Professor Eric Kessler was quoted in an article from the E-Commerce Times titled “Bezos Rebuffs Expose of Amazon’s Cold-Blooded Culture.”

Seidenberg Assistant Professor and Director of Cybersecurity Darren Hayes, DPS, was featured in an article from the Associated Press about the clamor surrounding Hillary Clinton’s private email usage as Secretary of State. He was also quoted in a Kiplinger’s article, “Guide to Protecting Yourself from Identity Theft,” as well as highlighted in a Breitbart News article in reference to a report Hayes wrote regarding skimmer and payment card fraud. 

Lubin Professor Larry Chiagouris was quoted in an E-Commerce Times article called “Twitter Goes Long with Historic Tweet Access.” He was also featured in a San Francisco Chronicle article about popular message board Reddit, which has been in the news following a string of recent controversies, as well as an article in NetworkWorld about Google’s recent announcement regarding parent company Alphabet.

Lubin Professor John Alan James was quoted in an article for The Hill’s “Congress” blog titled “High Cost of Dodd-Frank is Harming US Banks and Citizens.”

Pace Law School and the International Council of Environmental Law have awarded Ambassadors Macharia Kamau, of Kenya, and Csaba Kőrösi, of Hungary, the Elizabeth Haub Award for Environmental Diplomacy.

Daniel E. Estrin, supervising attorney at the Pace Environmental Litigation Clinic, was quoted in a New York Times article about the recent decline of sturgeon in the Hudson River following construction for a new Tappan Zee Bridge.
