Pace University Distinguished Professor Bennett L. Gershman was honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the New York Law Journal’s 2022 New York Legal Awards on Thursday, October 6. The New York Legal Awards honor attorneys who have made an impact on the legal community and the practice of law over an entire career. Professor Gershman is one of 10 distinguished honorees to receive the 2022 Lifetime Achievement accolade in recognition of his decades of service in the field of law and his record of extensive, extraordinary research, scholarship and teaching.

Sebastian Junger, the New York Times bestselling author of Freedom, Tribe, and The Perfect Storm, will speak at Pace University’s Pleasantville campus at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 10, 2022.

Pace University’s Bachelor of Arts in Writing for Diversity and Equity in Theater and Media Arts, housed in the Dyson College of Arts and Sciences, has received a two-year, $609,000 grant from The Edmond de Rothschild Foundation that continues its support of the program.

Pace University on Monday unveiled its first dedicated gaming arena in celebration of the Athletic Department’s newest and 15th varsity sport – Esports. The announcement comes as Pace University’s Esports program enters its second official season after a successful inaugural year in spring 2022. There are more than 500 members across both campuses that are a part of Pace’s gaming community, including players on its Varsity, Academy, Club and Intramural teams. The arena was made possible with support from Burt and Hedda Hurvich.

On Wednesday, September 21, the Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University held the kick-off event for the recently launched Sustainable Business Law Hub. The well-attended event provided a networking opportunity for like-minded business, environmental and legal professionals dedicated to sustainable business practices in Westchester County, New York City, and beyond.

Professor Sharmila L. Murthy delivered the Annual Lloyd K. Garrison Lecture on Environmental Law on Thursday, September 15 on "Advancing Environmental Justice." The Lloyd K. Garrison Lecture on Environmental Law was established in memory of Lloyd K. Garrison in 1995. Professor Sharmila Murthy is Senior Counsel, White House Council on Environmental Quality Professor and Director of Faculty Scholarship and Research at Suffolk University School of Law.

The Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University is pleased to announce that Blake Hudson, Dean of Samford University’s Cumberland School of Law, recently completed a residency at the Law School as a Haub Visiting Scholar. In their roles at Haub Law, Visiting Scholars collaborate with faculty, guest lecture classes, and work closely with students in Haub Law's Environmental Law Program and others. As previously announced, funding for the Haub Visiting Scholars was made possible by a generous gift from the Haub family in recognition of the essential role of environmental science, informatics and other technology and allied fields towards formulating environmental policy and law.

The Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University is proud to announce that they have been ranked #1 in the top 50 Environmental Policy Centers of Excellence across the globe by the journal of Environmental Policy and Law (EPL). EPL is a global journal that seeks to publish cutting-edge scholarly works that have global significance. It provides a platform to facilitate an ideational understanding of international environmental policy, law, and institutional issues. The purpose of this ranking is to provide an overview of those institutions most active in the domain of environmental policy and law. Various criteria for selection were used in the calculation, including the quantity and quality of articles published in scholarly journals on environmental policy and on environmental law by authors affiliated with these institutions.
