The Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University honored Veronica Dragalin, Chief of the Anticorruption Prosecution Office for the Republic of Moldova, with its 2023 Robert S. Tucker Prize for Prosecutorial Excellence at a ceremony in New York City attended by fellow prosecutors and other members of the legal community. Veronica, a former Assistant United States Attorney, was recognized for her outstanding contributions to the field of criminal prosecution and excellence in prosecutorial practice, and praised for her commitment and courage in leading the fight against corruption in her native country of Moldova.
On Monday, March 20, the Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University presented their annual Inaugural Equity & Justice Forum. Marcia Sells, Chief Diversity Officer, Metropolitan Opera, was the featured panelist for this inaugural forum titled, “Belonging – Centuries of Struggle,” which highlighted the challenges of diverse communities in the legal profession. The forum was moderated by Haub Law Professor and Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, Barbara Atwell.
The Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University is proud to announce that Professor Lisa Benjamin has been selected to receive the 2022-2023 Pace |Haub Environmental Law Distinguished Junior Scholar Award. The Haub Environmental Law Distinguished Junior Scholar Award is presented annually to an emerging junior environmental law professor who exhibits scholarly excellence and promise at an early stage in his/her career. The Haub Environmental Law Faculty solicits nominations from law professors throughout the country and selects a recipient from that pool of nominations. The award recipient is invited to present his/her recent scholarship to the Haub Law community.
Pace School of Performing Arts, located in lower Manhattan, is a proud partner in the development of new works for stage and screen. Director and choreographer Denis Jones will be working with students at Pace School of Performing Arts on the development of a new show titled, BANKSY. Just as the artist Banksy is anonymous, so is the author of this newly workshopped production. Created as a play with music and set in present-day London, BANKSY is a modern reimagining of the life of the world’s most famous street artist, and her efforts to fight the British government’s intention to enact policies harmful to women.
The Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University has launched a series of collaborative paid internship experiences with prestigious firms and companies as part of its new Sustainable Business Law Hub. The school also announces the launch of its newly created Sustainable Business Law Hub Student Scholars Program with the selection of its inaugural class of students.
The Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University is pleased to announce that U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren will deliver the Law School’s commencement address at its 45th Commencement Ceremony, to be held on May 15, 2023 at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Queens. Senator Warren and Harvard Law Professor and Legal Historian Bruce H. Mann will both receive the Doctor of Laws, honoris causa, the highest honor conferred by the Law School, recognizing their lifelong contributions to public service and the legal profession.
The Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University honored three distinguished leaders of the legal community, as well as outstanding alumni, during its 28th Annual Law Leadership Dinner, held at the Westchester Country Club on March 7, 2023. The celebration was one of the law school’s most successful fundraisers in history, raising vital funds in support of student scholarships, faculty research, and innovative programs.
Following a national search, Joseph R. Franco, Ph.D., has been appointed provost and executive vice president for academic affairs at Pace University, the University announced on Wednesday.
Pace University alumnus Telfar Clemens ’08, a celebrated fashion designer and founder of the label Telfar, will address Pace University’s Commencement 2023 and receive an honorary doctorate. U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Warren will address the Elisabeth Haub School of Law graduating class. In addition, Sen. Warren and Harvard Law Professor and legal historian Bruce H. Mann will both receive honorary degrees. Trustee and alumnus Ivan G. Seidenberg ’81, retired chairman and CEO of Verizon Communications, will address graduates of Pace’s Seidenberg School of Computer Science and Information Systems to mark the school’s 40th anniversary.
