From sports and entertainment to politics to animal defense, we’re going to lay down the law school student orgs for you!

American Constitution Society (ACS): is a group of students concerned about the pervasive conservative orthodoxy in American law and politics. The mission of the American Constitution Society is to harness the values of compassion and respect for each individual, and to incorporate them into American law and politics, in order to build a stronger and more decent national community.

Black Law Students Association (BLSA): is made up of a group of law students devoted to concerns of African-American students. The BLSA provides an academic and social support system, sends a representative to various conferences and conventions, and actively participates in the recruitment of minority students.

Christian Law Students Association (CLSA): is a non-denominational Christian organization at Pace focusing on what it means to be a Christian lawyer and creating a Christian fellowship among law students at Pace.

Corporate and Commercial Law Society (CCLS): strives to expand awareness of corporate and commercial law for students at any stage in their legal studies. By encouraging interaction between students and professionals, the Society aims to help students form lasting ties with the corporate and commercial law world. CCLS will provide informational and networking events that facilitate learning in the corporate and commercial law areas.

Criminal Justice Society (CJS): is dedicated to providing a forum for the discussion, debate, and education of current topics in the criminal justice arena, particularly those related to students, educators, and practitioners of criminal law.

Environmental Law Society (ELS): is a student organization that aims to provide Pace Law students with the opportunity to explore different areas of environmental law through events that discuss the current state of environmental law with faculty and guest speakers, specifically focusing on land use and sustainable development, energy and climate, and food and agriculture.

Family Law Society (FLS): exposes students to what the Pace community has to offer in the area of family law, as well as generates involvement in local, state, and national family law programs and activities.

Federalist Society: fosters critical thought and debate about the application of conservative principles to the law. The Society embraces the principle that the state exists to preserve freedom, that the separation of governmental powers is central to the integrity of the US Constitution, and that it is emphatically the province and duty of the judiciary to say what the law is—not what it should be. The Society seeks both to promote an awareness of these principles and to further their application through its activities.

Hearsay: is an award-winning student newspaper that began during the 1977–78 academic year on the initiative of interested students. Hearsay includes articles, editorials, and information that directly affect the Law School community. Faculty, student, and staff contributions are welcome.

Honor Board: The mission of the Honor Board is to promote and uphold the ethical values of the legal profession. By setting and meeting high ethical standards, students prepare themselves to stand alongside members of the Bar with honesty and integrity. For more information, check out the Honor Board website.

Intellectual Property Student Organization (IPSO): allows students who are interested in the general area of intellectual property law to keep abreast of major intellectual property law legislation and case law; network with firms that practice in the intellectual property law arena; and network with other students interested in the intellectual property law field.

International Law Society (ILS): introduces students to the ever-expanding field of international law. ILS is an autonomous, student-run organization chartered by the Association for International Law Students. Students are able to participate in moot court competitions, cultural discussion groups, and career panels. It is their belief that in the competitive legal job market, it is not enough to have the highest GPA or Law Review. Involvement and commitment to international law outside of the classroom also entices prospective employers.

Italian-American Law Students Association (ITALO): is a group of students of Italian descent and any other interested students. ITALO sponsors speakers and enables members to network with lawyers and judges in Westchester County and New York City.

Jewish Law Students Association (JLSA): holds discussions about current issues and co-sponsors social events with other organizations, which provide an excellent opportunity for students to meet and become an active part of the Pace Law School community. Activities include the celebration of Holy Days and lectures on topics such as the relevance of Talmudic Law to modern law and practice, international law and the Arab-Israeli conflict, and the role of traditional Jewish values in modern law.

Lambda Law Students Organization (Lambda): promotes visibility for LGBTQA+ students at Pace Law School; serves as a forum to discuss areas of the law that affect their community; fosters diversity and understanding regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity; and serves as a vehicle to increase networking opportunities for LGBTQA+ students to help overcome barriers that job applicants typically encounter.

Latin American Law Students Association (LALSA): is comprised of students working together to enhance the educational experience and the professional pursuits of law students committed to diversity in legal education.

National Lawyers Guild (NLG): is an association dedicated to the support and defense of economic and social justice, and to progressive change rather than the acceptance of the status quo. They seek to unite the lawyers, law students, legal workers, and jailhouse lawyers of America in an organization that shall function as an effective political and social force in the service of the people, to the end that human rights shall be regarded as the most sacred interest in this country.

Pace Immigration Law Society (PILS): is an organization dedicated to promoting a dialogue about legal rights of refugees and immigrants in the US and globally. PILS' mission is to introduce students to the different areas of immigration within the law; expose members to the various career paths that involve and intersect with immigration law; and to keep students informed on the changes and recent developments of immigration law.

Personal Injury Law Association (PILA): is a student organization that provides Pace Law students with the opportunity to explore the different areas of tort law, including Personal Injury, Medical Malpractice, Product Liability, and Negligence. They facilitate opportunities for students to network amongst themselves and with professionals in the wider personal injury legal community, to expand their knowledge and education in the field, and to explore potential career paths and internships.

Phi Alpha Delta (PAD): is the largest of the three legal law fraternities and the only law fraternity represented at Pace. The Adolf Homburger Law School Chapter strives to uphold the principles and ideals of integrity, compassion, courage, and professional service. Their goal is to implement a well-rounded organization incorporating activities including professional, academic, community service, fundraising, and networking events. The PAD chapter has more than 80 student members and has received active encouragement and involvement from Pace alumni and PAD alumni in the area.

Public Interest Law Scholarship Organization (PILSO): provides grants on a competitive basis to students pursuing public interest law summer internships and careers. Funding for the grants comes from various on-campus events, faculty, and students. In its first six years, PILSO has given over $58,000 in grants to Pace law students and has thus provided over 8,000 hours of volunteer legal services to public interest law organizations.

Sports, Entertainment, and Arts Law Society (SEALS): is a student-founded and led organization that strives to promote a greater awareness to the student body of the opportunities in lawyering in sports and entertainment fields.

Student Animal Legal Defense Fund (SALDF): provides a form for education, advocacy, and scholarship aimed at advancing the interests and improving the lives of animals through the legal system and raising the profile of animal law. The organization accomplishes these goals by sponsoring campus literature tables, speakers and debates, movies, volunteer opportunities and other forums for learning about animal law.

Student Bar Association (SBA): is the umbrella organization that all other student organizations fall under. SBA works closely with the Dean’s Office and Pace faculty and staff to coordinate and improve all aspects of student life. SBA executive board members and class representatives participate on faculty appointment committees, assist with orientation and graduation, attend faculty meetings, and sponsor several professional and social functions throughout the year. In addition, the SBA President and SBA delegates serve as liaisons to the Pace Alumni Association Board and Board of Visitors. At the national level, the association is a member of the Law Student Division of the American Bar Association.

Tax Law Society (TLS): trains students to become IRS-certified for VITA volunteering. Pace Law VITA also assists students in finding VITA Tax Preparation sites to volunteer at. Their goal is for students to learn more about tax law through this educational training and volunteer program.

Women’s Association of Law Students (WALS): provides a forum for information concerning women’s issues in the law. Each year, WALS invites speakers to the school and sponsors lobbying and involvement with off-campus activities of concern to women.

Residence Hall Association (RHA)

Is both a school and national organization created to ensure that residence halls are the best they can possibly be. RHA is a form of student government and leadership for the residence halls and works to improve the quality of your residence hall and programming, gives students a voice, and helps students meet and interact with their peers. Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC)

Committee made up of student-athletes assembled to provide insight on the student-athlete experience. Students build a sense of community within athletics and campus-wide and foster a positive student-athlete image. SAAC hosts various fundraisers including BINGO Night, which raised $3,100 for Make-A-Wish Foundation, and a Japan Relief Drive, which collected 50 bags to send overseas. Student Government Association (SGA)

Serves as a liaison between the administration, faculty, staff, and the students of the Pleasantville Campus. SGA offers governance and support to all student organizations through a legislative branch and executive branch. Student Government Association (SGA)

The governing organization of the New York City Campus. Committed to bringing change and student concerts to light, the SGA acts as a liaison between the administration and the student body. SGA is also responsible for overseeing the Budget Allocation Council (BAC) which distributes funding to the clubs and organizations on campus. Greek Governing Councils

Pace fraternities and sororities come together in their “councils” to advance campus life for Greeks and non-Greeks alike. Councils offer national representation, resources, and support to Greek organizations on campus. Each official Greek organization must be represented under a governing council.

United Cultural Council (UCC): promotes and fosters positive inter-fraternal relations, communication, and development of all cultural organizations. American Sign Language Club (ASL)

dedicated to incorporating the Deaf community into helping Pace University educate the students about the community as well as culture. Colleges Against Cancer (CAC)

A nationwide collaboration of college students, faculty, and staff dedicated to eliminating cancer by working to implement the programs and mission of the American Cancer Society. Join this student org and become a part of the fight against cancer as you participate in major events like Paint the Campus Purple, the Great American Smokeout, and Relay for Life, held each year in Pleasantville. Gamma Sigma Sigma (GSS)

Assembles college and university students in the spirit of service to humanity and to develop friendship among students of all races and creeds. Gamma Sigma Sigma promotes a lifelong commitment to service and diversity, in an environment of unity and equality, while creating opportunities for growth. Model UN

An internationally recognized competitive team of students dedicated to learning about how to create peace, justice, and security in the world. Students take on the roles of countries, observers, and nongovernmental organizations in various UN committees in order to debate the most important issues in the world. NATURE (Natural Activists Teaching an Understanding and Respect for the Environment)

Pace’s environmental club, which focuses on local and global environmental issues. Events are aimed at bringing awareness to the Pace Community of pressing environmental issues. Check out the NATURE SetterSync page for more information.

Pace 4 Kids (P4K)

An annual 12-hour event held every November on the Pleasantville Campus to raise money for the Maria Fareri Children's Hospital at Westchester Medical Center, which helps to provide better care for the kids and families there. For more information, check out their Pace 4 Kids SetterSync page.

Pace Book Club (PBC)

A club that seeks to build a community of readers and engage in discussions about novels. PBC would also like to give back to the community by running book drives and having events that engage the campus in meaningful conversations. For more information, check out the PBC SetterSync page.

Plant Based Pace

Political Science Association

Helps raise general student awareness of politics, the American government, the American judicial system, laws, and their effects on all members of society. Active Minds

Seeks to promote a dialogue about mental health by holding events such as therapy dog nights, panel discussions, and mental health awareness weeks. Designed to build community between the commuter and residential students at Pace. Hillel

Dedicated to creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for all Jewish college students, where they are encouraged to grow intellectually, spiritually, and socially. International Student Club

Helps to create a feeling of world fellowship by assisting one another to better understand each other’s cultures. The International Student Club is open to all students and often hosts field trips, soccer matches, movie nights, and more. Muslim Students Association (MSA)

Strives to form a healthy and socially aware Pace Community composed of Muslims and non-Muslims. MSA plans to host many charity events to help give back to society, which is also a perfect medium to showcase the hallmark of Islam. MSA will discuss any issue which concerns a member of the MSA, free of any implied stigma surrounding the stigma, and will explore and highlight many different aspects of Islam but will never force religious ideologies onto anyone. Queer Society

Encourages students to come together to stop hate by sharing differences, voicing difficulties, spreading gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender awareness, as well as awareness of diversity not only of sexual orientation, but of race, gender, class, and culture. In the past, the group has participated in the New York AIDS Walk, Day of Silence, LGBTQA+ Fair, workshops, lectures, and more.

SABOR Latino

Promotes Latino/a culture through their very own dance team. SABOR is more than just flavor. It stands for Sabiduria. Amistad. Bondad. Orgullo. Respeto.

Hip Hop Dance Club

Aims to add culture and diversity to campus through the art of dance. Each class uses choreography to help people develop the rhythm, technique, and self-discipline it takes to have a strong stage presence, which encourages self-expression and increases self-esteem. New Vybz

Aims to create an outlet for self-expression that explores numerous styles of dance. Anyone with a passion to grow as a dancer is welcome to join. Pace Drama Alliance

Provides student singers, songwriters, producers, and musicians an opportunity to come together and collaborate. Pace Comedy Live

Stand Up Productions

A not-for-profit theater company run entirely by students. Their most important goal is to send all profits to charities based on the context of the show or the director’s personal decision. They believe these acts will promote a better atmosphere, establish more fulfilling work habits, and give students the opportunity to use theater to directly benefit the community in which we live and learn. Creates a welcoming atmosphere for students who love and appreciate film. Pace Original Style Etiquette (POSE)

Jennifer M. Holmes Named ED of Pace School of Performing Arts

Dyson College of Arts and Science

Pace University has announced Jennifer M. Holmes as the new executive director of the Pace School of Performing Arts (PPA). Holmes, who began her teaching career as an adjunct at Pace University teaching world drama, theatre history, and acting, will now lead PPA’s academics, operations, budget, productions, and fundraising activities for its eight degree programs. She replaces the previous executive director, Grant Kretchik.
