Biography
Faculty Bio
Dr. Andrew Young Choi is an Assistant Professor of Psychology and teaches primarily in the Clinical Health Psychology PhD Program. His award-winning critical scholarship has addressed intersectionality and racism-related stress in the Asian diaspora and measurement and interventions to mitigate LGBTQ+ health inequities. He is a former APA Minority Fellow, Pacific Athletic Conference (Pac-12) Postgraduate Scholar, and University of California Regents Special Fellow.
Dr. Choi is a Board Certified Psychologist specializing in culturally responsive and integrative psychodynamic psychotherapy for young professionals from diverse backgrounds. He fulfilled his APA-accredited Doctoral Internship in Health Service Psychology at the Counseling and Student Development Center of the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa and his Postdoctoral Fellowship in Clinical Psychology at Cambridge Health Alliance / Harvard Medical School.
