Dale Goldstein

ACADEMIC AND PROFESSIONAL ENGAGEMENT ACTIVITIES

Dale Goldstein is a Clinical Professor of Accounting in Pace University's Lubin School of Business, focusing on IT risk in the financial reporting process and related areas.

Prior to joining the faculty at Pace, Dale was a Director in KPMG's Technology Assurance - Audit Practice, where he led global engagement teams for some of KPMG's largest public external audit clients, delivering technology assurance audit services to evaluate accounting systems in all phases of integrated financial statement audits. In addition, Dale has held related positions with Deloitte Consulting, Cap Gemini, and as an independent consultant.

With a deep IT background, and a sharp focus on dealing with complex and emerging IT technology topics (e.g., Blockchain, Cloud environments, Cybersecurity, Data Analytics, etc.), Dale provided his clients with strategic yet pragmatic perspectives on addressing critical IT risks.

Dale is experienced with communicating to Board level and C-Suite executives across a variety of business issues, technologies, and industries, and has a track record of building collaborative, effective, and high performing teams through his personal leadership style.

Chosen for a three-year international rotation in KPMG's Global Audit group, Dale was responsible for the development, maintenance, and support of selected areas of the firm's audit methodology, including creation of authoritative guidance, audit tools, and training supporting those conducting financial statement audits.

Along with colleagues from the Global Audit group, Dale led programs to deploy KPMG's next generation global audit tool across member firms located in Brazil, Mexico, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Thailand, Singapore, Japan, as well as the United States. The project resulted in a complete transformation of the entire audit process, improved quality, consistency, and execution.

As part of KPMG's Quality Program, Dale directed review teams with the inspection of IT assurance and audit work to assess the degree of compliance with firm audit policy, regulatory requirements, and professional standards in connection with audit performance, report issuance, and related matters.

Dale has served as a facilitator in a number of KPMG industry roundtables and knowledge sharing sessions on topics such as IT risk in the financial reporting process, S-Ox readiness (pre-IPO), and compliance, as well as an instructor at KPMG's Business School, delivering courses in IT risk in the financial statement audit process, audit quality better practices, and cybersecurity risk assessment. He also served as an instructor in KPMG's Brown Bag Series, discussing IBM iSeries, technical risks, security control features, and implementation strategies.

Dale has a strong commitment to community engagement with active involvement in a number of not-for-profits and educational institutions. This included, Bideawee Animal Rescue, Ronald McDonald House of New York City, and Exploring the Arts (Tony Bennett Foundation). Dale also serves on the Pace University - Lubin School of Business - Department of Accounting Advisory Board, and is actively involved with the student mentoring program.
