Research and Creative Works

Research Interest

We conduct research on the biochemistry of DNA-processing enzymes. My lab primarily focuses on the enzyme topoisomerase IA, an enzyme of prokaryotic organisms which manages the supercoiling (ie, additional coiling/tangles beyond DNA's intrinsic helical twist) generated during transcription.
