Biography

Adjunct Professor Diego Scambia was first an associate and then a partner at Fitzpatrick, Cella, Harper and Scinto, a New York law firm that specialized in intellectual property law. Prof. Scambia specialized in patent litigation, including “Hatch-Waxman” pharmaceutical patent litigation. He represented clients in various industries and worked on cases in diverse technologies, including printer toner cartridges, electrochromic and lighted rearview mirrors, “ice” beer manufacturing processes, air conditioning and dehumidification systems, and many pharmaceutical cases involving, for example, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, microemulsion compositions, and modified release drug preparations. He also teaches a class at Manhattan College entitled "The Legal Aspects of Engineering.”
