Biography

Ellayne has been a clinical associate professor in the Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD) program, and the director of the Speech, Language, and Hearing Center since 2018. Ellayne came to Pace with extensive experience as a clinician, administrator, and instructor. She has worked in diverse settings with professionals from all health and rehabilitation fields.

In addition to program-specific administration and service, Ellayne has consistently been involved at the college, University, regional, and national level on committees and in leadership positions. Ellayne is a Fellow of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and a Distinguished Practitioner Fellow of the National Academies of Practice (NAP). She is actively involved in both associations with previous service as the co-chair for the NAP Forum for two years, and currently serving as chair-elect of the NAP Speech-Language Pathology Academy.

In 2024, Ellayne was appointed director of the newly established Office of Interprofessional Education and Collaborative Practice (IPECP) for the College of Health Professions (CHP). The Office of IPECP will play a pivotal role in preparing future healthcare professionals for collaborative, patient-centered care and serve as a dedicated hub for fostering collaboration and teamwork among students, faculty, and staff. This integration will enhance the skills and competencies of CHP graduates, thus preparing them for the dynamic, complex healthcare landscape and demonstrating CHP’s commitment to producing graduates who are poised to address the challenges of modern healthcare. Establishing the IPECP office at CHP will ensure that IPECP is effectively and consistently integrated into the curriculum of all CHP programs.
