Karin Segall
Biography
Adjunct Professor Karin Segall has 20 years of experience in the field of intellectual property. She practices in the area of trademark and copyrights, with an emphasis on clearance and counseling. Prof. Segall has opined on the availability of thousands of trademarks in a wide range of industries, including for well-known companies in the publications, publishing, fashion, finance and telecommunications industries. She also has extensive experience in enforcement, inter partes proceedings, litigation and licensing.
Prof. Segall is currently a partner at the intellectual property boutique firm of Leason Ellis LLP in White Plains. Prior to joining Leason Ellis, she was a partner at Darby & Darby PC and Foley & Lardner LLP.
Prof. Segall is a frequent lecturer and prolific writer, including as a regular contributor to the online trademark daily publication, World Trademark Review. She earned her JD, summa cum laude, from Brooklyn Law School, where she was Notes and Comments Editor for the Law Review and was on the Moot Court Honor Society. She graduated with a BA cum laude in Psychology from Williams College.
