Curriculum

Program Highlights
- There is a wealth of opportunity to participate in a variety of cultural organizations and activities including the Spanish Club, Spanish Conversation Hour, and the national foreign language honor society, Phi Sigma Iota.
- We strongly encourage students to take advantage of study abroad and other enriching travel experiences. Study abroad programs can last a week, a semester, a summer, or even a full year. We also offer cultural and travel courses that culminate in a ten-day, in-country immersion trip during the spring and winter breaks.
- The department organizes many events and cultural activities throughout the year, including International Poetry Day; International Career Day; film festivals; Spanish conversation hours; and excursions to plays and museums. Renowned scholars, playwrights, poets, novelists, and stage and screen directors occasionally visit the department and offer guest lectures.
- With one of the largest internship placement programs in the New York metropolitan area, Pace students enjoy internships in a variety of fields, including travel and tourism, translation, government agencies, diplomacy, nonprofit organizations, business, and more.
- Small class sizes enable faculty to provide students with individualized instruction and attention. Among our top priorities is teaching in a supportive atmosphere. Our faculty provides opportunities to participate in independent research and service learning, as well as aid in future career decisions. A number of courses are also offered online.
- An opportunity to enroll in an accelerated dual-degree program, BA Spanish/MS Publishing or BA Spanish/MST Adolescents, is also available to qualified majors.
