James Elliott is a teacher, director and podcaster, he has taught Shakespeare around the country at places as diverse as Cooper Union, Fairleigh Dickinson, University of Texas, MIT, Juniata College, University of Tennessee, Norfolk School of the Arts and NY Film Academy. He taught a Master Class in acting for Taiwan Performing Arts Center in Taipei. James served as an Artistic Associate for New York Rep on Stalking the Bogeyman, a critically acclaimed Off-Broadway play. His directing credits include 3 Graces Theatre Co. (Dissonance, published in Best Short Plays of 2011-12), ABC-TV Diversity Showcase, off-off-Broadway, regional theaters and colleges nationwide. Producing Director for Urban Empire: premiered Evolution by Jonathan Marc Sherman starring Peter Dinklage and Live Story, a reading series produced with Francis Ford Coppola’s Zoetrope. Screenwriter and director of the award-winning short film Helen at Risk with Didi Conn. Directed Sonnet 97 as part of the Sonnet Project. Co-creator of the podcast series The State of Shakespeare.
