CIS 101 – Introduction to Computing
The original and best, CIS 101 is the class that sees hundreds of students per semester learn the fundamentals of computing. As the semester progresses, students learn the ins and outs of applications like Microsoft Excel, web development languages including HTML and CSS, and aspects of computer programming.
The course aims to get students comfortable with code and the applications that are frequently used in the workplace and in everyday life.
CIS 102w – Web Design for a Non-Profit Organization
This course focuses on assisting a non-profit organization build a presence on the web. Students identify and work with an organization to create a functioning website using skills and knowledge in coding, design, search engine optimization, copywriting, and more.
Not only is the course an excellent introduction to building successful websites, but fulfills a civic engagement requirement too and the final project can be added to your resume and portfolio.
