Opportunities
The Computer Forensics Lab offers a wealth of opportunities to our students, including access to our partnerships with various organizations and firms. Currently, we have partnerships with Manhattan DA, Westchester County DA, NYPD, Department of Investigation, Department of Homeland Security, Hewlett-Packard Enterprise, Citicorp, Kraft & Kennedy, and many more.
Through these partnerships, we have completed many grant-funded research projects and secured jobs and internships for our students. The hands-on experience gained in the lab helps our students land some of the most prized jobs, with several Seidenberg students moving on to jobs as forensics examiners as well as in managing these departments.
We also encourage students taking computer forensics courses to take the AccessData Certified Examiner (ACE) exam, for which extra credit is generally awarded.
Students taking undergraduate, graduate and doctoral programs complete independent studies and research in digital forensics. Many of these students come from the Pforzheimer Honors College and a large proportion of these students are military veterans. Many of these veterans come with tremendous synergistic skills that facilitate our innovative research.
