Sex-Based Misconduct Policy (including Title IX)
Please note that on January 9, 2025, a federal judge issued an order that vacated the 2024 Title IX Regulations that our campus implemented during the summer and fall 2024 semesters. Subsequently, the U.S. Department of Education issued a letter on February 4, 2025, confirming that the U.S. Department of Education will enforce Title IX under the provisions of the 2020 Title IX Rule, rather than the 2024 Title IX Rule. Taken together, this has the effect of requiring our campus to once again comply with the Title IX Regulations issued in 2020.
Although this does require a slight change in our response to complaints of sexual misconduct, many of our current practices will continue, including:
- Written notice of the allegations to complainants and respondents and discussions about available resolution processes
- A resolution process that is equitable, transparent to the participants, and allows access to evidence prior to any final determination
- Reasonable and appropriate supportive measures
- Prompt notification of final determinations and appeal rights
- A team of well-trained professionals who are free from conflicts of interest or bias
For information about how the University responds to concerns about sex-based misconduct, please refer to the Pace University’s Sex-Based Misconduct Policy 2020 (PDF).
