Course Description
The Medical English program is intended for students and professionals who wish to master medical terminology and increase English fluency within a clinical context. Students develop their ability to communicate with patients and medical colleagues through a focused study of good communication: verbal communication, active listening, voice management, non-verbal communication, and cultural awareness.
Objectives
- Write and verbally communicate instructions for taking medication
- Write notes when someone is describing a problem
- Ask open-ended questions to better understand the specific details of a problem
- Give recommendations on a course of action, giving reasons
- Communication a report describing medical plans and strategies in detail
