What is sexual assault?
Sexual assault is any type of sexual activity without the explicit consent of the recipient.

What should you do if you have been sexually assaulted?

• Understand that you are not at fault.
• Go to a safe place as fast as you can.
• Preserve evidence of the attack. Do not clean anything on you or at the scene of the assault.
• Call and ask someone you trust to be with you.
• Seek medical attention and go to your nearest hospital emergency room.

How can I help someone who has been sexually assaulted?

• Listen.
• Provide comfort.
• Normalize their feelings.
• Let them know they are not at fault.
• Encourage them to seek help.
• Accompany them to the hospital, police or counseling.
