- PHS 310 Pharm Manufacturing and Regulations
Opportunities and Experiences
You have the opportunity to work side-by-side with distinguished faculty conducting research that at other institutions is usually experienced at the graduate level, as well as co-publish and present such research at regional and national conferences.
The Student Honors Chemistry Club of the American Chemical Society, Tri-Beta Biological Society, and Sigma Xi provide you with academic, scholarly, and experiential learning peer support.
Other opportunities include internship placements in local and national corporate research and development, government institutions, and summer training programs nationwide.
Choose Your Career
Federal and State employment opportunities for chemical biology are growing. In addition, according to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, there is rapid job growth in STEM majors especially for Chemical Biology in pharmaceutical, healthcare, cosmetics, forensics, teaching, research and development, and manufacturing.
Career Options
The BS in Pharmaceutical Sciences program provides you with the background for further post-baccalaureate study in pharmaceutical science or admission into professional schools for pharmacy, medicine, dentistry or veterinary medicine (MS, PharmD, MD, PhD).
You can also work as a professional in research and development laboratories in the fields of pharmaceutical sciences; in production or quality control in a laboratory or production line, as well as assist pharmacists, chemists, and engineers to put more efficient methods of production and testing into practice.
This degree can also provide you with the formal educational preparation to be successful in employment in sales and marketing sectors of the pharmaceutical industry.
